The gallery’s tapestries are considered one of the most important collections in the world, as they are unique pieces dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries. The tapestries of the Royal Collections Gallery are made with a special weaving technique called “high warp,” which allows for the creation of detailed and colorful images. Each tapestry tells a different story and represents a scene from the lives of the kings of Spain. These tapestries have been recently restored to maintain their beauty and historical value.

Many of the 650 pieces that will be displayed in the museum will be in constant rotation, with a cultural and educational goal to showcase the richness and quality of our heritage.

A curiosity about the Royal Collections Gallery:

The idea of building the Royal Collections Gallery was born during the Second Republic and was resumed in 1998 when its construction was approved.

After several delays, Madrid will be able to boast a new museum, and you could visit it. The Tour Time team will be delighted to show it to you on a guided tour led by professionals who love Madrid and its history.
