About the Thyssen Museum:

The Thyssen Museum, with art that is different but complementary to the Prado and the Reina Sofía, will surprise you. This museum welcomes one million visitors annually.

The Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum is a public institution located in the Villahermosa Palace. It houses one of the most important pictorial collections in the world, with nearly 900 works of art gathered over seven decades by the Thyssen-Bornemisza family. The Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum fills in the chronological and artistic style gaps left by the Prado and the Reina Sofía, featuring works by artists such as Renoir, Cézanne, Gauguin, or Kandinsky. It includes works from the Italian and German Renaissance, the Netherlands (15th and 16th centuries), with pieces from masters of Baroque, Rococo, Realism, Impressionism, and Post-Impressionism. It also has American painting predating the 19th century, Fauvism, Expressionism, Cubism, Surrealism, Futurism, and more.
